Today, I threw out one of my oldest lipsticks. It used to be my favorite; in fact, I still love it. But I had to give it up because of some bad memories attached to it, memories that refused to go even though they were blurry with time.

The lipstick was affected by them too, its beautiful fragrance was long gone and its vibrant color had begun to fade. I tossed it in the trash with a heavy heart and second thoughts. But once it was out of my sight, I felt a glimmer of hope. Like I was one step closer to losing those painful memories forever...
