Picture this: you are riding your bike on a busy street and out of nowhere, a car bumps into you headfirst. You are violently thrown off your bike and land on your back. The impact shakes you up and even as bystanders gather around you to ask questions, you are unable to say anything. Soon, you pass out and the crowd dwindles away shortly after.
That’s a terrifying situation to be in, isn’t it? Sarang Shinde, the founder of Myhelptag, certainly thinks so, which is why he founded his company in the first place. In an interview with Mahevash Muses, he talks about the story behind Myhelptag, how it works, and why everyone needs to use it.
What is the story behind Myhelptag?
My friends and I were traveling on an open road when we came across a curve and saw that an accident had occurred a few kilometers ahead. Seeing that there was no one else around to help, we rushed the helpless victim to the nearest hospital. The doctors asked us to contact his family members or friends. While the doctor was attending to him, we tried to find documents that would help us inform his family about the accident and his hospitalization. To our surprise, there was no information that could help us. Even his cell phone was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, the doctors were able to save the victim.
This incident shook me and I wanted to create a way to help people in such life-threatening situations. The idea of Myhelptag was born with the belief that like my friends and me, there are good people in this world who want to help others in an emergency. Myhelptag makes sure that a victim can be identified right away and provides their most critical medical history and an emergency contact so that help can be organized immediately.
Why do we need Myhelptag in a time where everyone carries their smartphone with them 24×7?
This is a common misconception. Carrying a smartphone 24×7 doesn’t always help one in an emergency. Most people keep their phones locked with a password, thus preventing strangers from accessing them. Even if that is not the case, old people or pets cannot use smartphones.
What’s more, when one is the victim in an accident, they may be too hurt or stunned to use their phones. There is also a good chance their mobile will crash or like it often does, be stolen. When you have any Myhelptag product, people can get all your details instantly, even when you are unconscious or unable to talk.
So your tag can be a lifesaver in the case of an emergency? That’s amazing! How does it work?
When a user buys a tag, they have to enter their details as directed on the pack. These details can be edited or updated anytime by the user.
Every Myhelptag product makes it fast and easy for first responders to access your profile. There are two ways to access a profile. Firstly, anyone who scans the QR code is directed to the user’s entered details. Secondly, user details can also be accessed by visiting https://www.myhelptag.com/ and entering the unique ID and PIN that is printed on the sticker. Either way, the responder gets instant access to the user/victim’s medical profile and emergency contact.
The respondent can also send the Google map location of the place where the tag has been scanned to the emergency contact. This helps the contact detect the exact location of the victim, thus ensuring that they reach them faster.
According to you, who should use Myhelptag?
Everyone should carry emergency stickers because nobody knows when an accident will happen. Accidents can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anybody. In particular, all bike and car owners must use these emergency stickers. Also, old people who have medical conditions should use Metal Medical Tags.
