#RedefineNormalToday – Transgender Women Are Women

As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I have to say this: transgender women are women. Even if you don’t agree, the least you can do is respect them.

What’s normalized but not normal is when cisgender actresses play transgender women on TV and in films. And the same goes for cisgender actors playing transgender men.

One thing that will help change social attitudes is trans representation in media. So when actresses like Tracy Lysette stand up for themselves, the least people can do is not send death threats.
