Productivity is overrated.
There I said it. I have been dying to declare this for a while now, and I am glad one of my favorite authors agrees. He is none other than Austin Kleon, and this is what he said:
“Productivity is overrated. Just focus on doing good work. Every day when you go to bed, you need to make sure you did the thing that gives your life meaning.”
I couldn’t agree more. In today’s world, we put far too much focus on being productive throughout the day. And I think that is counterintuitive. What we should worry about instead is doing work that is meaningful to us. Isn’t that a far better quest than being busy and hustling all the time?
In my opinion, defocusing on constant productivity will not only be good for your mental health, but it will also make you more productive. Talk about getting what you want only after you stop obsessing about it!
Lastly, not trying to be productive all the time will prevent burnout in the long run. Who wants to deal with the hell called burnout if it can be avoided in the first place? Not me, that’s for sure!

I agree with your view.. Good take!
When we show gratitude on our everyday actions, we know we’ve been through a productive day. No stress.. just satisfaction matters!
Thanks, Anisha :)
Right you are. Satisfaction is so important.
