Unconditional Love Is A Big Fat Lie

Unconditional Love Is A Big Fat Lie

Recently, I saw a video doing the rounds on social media. You know, the one in which Chris Rock states, “Only women, children, and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only loved under the condition that he provide something.” If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here:

What?! This is some serious misinformation. NOBODY is loved unconditionally. Being a man has nothing to do with it. Do you love yourself unconditionally? No, right? Then how can you expect someone else to?

The extent of conditions vary, but:

All love is conditional because all relationships are conditional.

If love in any kind of relationship is truly unconditional, it is effing toxic. And the people in it need an intervention. Because sooner or later, this unhealthy lack of boundaries will create issues in their relationship.
